Growth Continues
According to the Celina Economic Development Corporation, Celina reached a population of 22,793 within city limits and 28,413 within the city’s service area in 2021. The figure is expected to hit 36,733 in 2022 with an estimated 400-600 new people moving to the city each month! By 2026, Celina is expected to reach 64,652 residents.
All this growth is bringing new businesses and new educational opportunities, including a new Celina ISD elementary school opening in Cambridge Crossing in 2023!

New Business Development
Two hospitals are coming to Celina. The 85,000-square-foot Celina Regional Medical Center is planned for a 13-acre site at the northeast corner of Dallas Parkway and Punk Carter Parkway. Methodist Health System also recently announced plans to open a hospital at the corner of the Dallas North Tollway and FM 428.
Downtown, a new whiskey and wine bar is coming this spring. The Silos, located at 300 N. Oklahoma Drive near Rollertown Beerworks, will serve beer, spirits, wine, brick-oven pizzas, burgers, tacos and charcuterie boards.
We can’t wait to watch the city continue to grow and welcome new businesses in 2022! Just last year, Celina reported 22 new businesses, $33 million in new capital investment, 165 new jobs, according to the 2022 Celina State of the City event.
Fun Community Events
The 2022 Celina event calendar is packed full of fun events and festivals! The Friday Night Markets return on March 11 and offer residents a great way to get outside, shop local, enjoy delicious food and listen to live music.
Other big events coming up include the city’s signature Cajun Fest on May 14, the Splash & Blast Independence Day celebration on July 2, Beware! of the Square on Oct. 22, and Christmas on the Square takes place on Nov. 30.
