Fun Fall Events in Celina

Cooler weather, Friday night lights, a diverse lineup of family-friendly events… Fall is undoubtedly our favorite time of the year in Celina! Now known as the Halloween Capital of North Texas, Celina is quickly becoming DFW’s destination for fall fun.

Oktoberfest

Saturday, Oct. 9
Downtown Celina
11 a.m.-10 p.m.

The third-annual Celina Oktoberfest will celebrate German culture in true Texas style. Enjoy authentic food, a bountiful selection of imported and locally brewed craft beers, music, dancing, contests and other special activities.

General admission tickets to Celina Oktoberfest are $5 per person (purchase at the gate or buy tickets online). Children age 12 and under will be admitted free. Even better, anyone wearing a traditional German lederhosen or dirndl costume to the gate will receive free admission!

Beware! of The Square

Saturday, Oct. 23
Downtown Celina
4-9 p.m.

The pinnacle Celina event is almost upon us! “Beware! of the Square” is a family-friendly Halloween event featuring spooktacular fun for everyone, including trick-or-treating, a Thriller dance lesson and flash mob, outdoor movie showing of Hocus Pocus, psychic pavilion, pumpkin painting, escape rooms, a haunted house, kid zone and SO MUCH more!

Kids of all ages are invited to participate in free trick-or-treating starting at 4 p.m. Vendors throughout the event will have over 60,000 pieces of candy; visit every booth to collect candy and shop the unique local vendors.

Troubadour Festival

Saturday, Nov. 6
Old Celina Park
12 p.m.-12 a.m.

The inaugural Troubadour Festival will take place at Old Celina Park! This new North Texas BBQ and music festival pays homage to the songwriter and the popularity explosion of the Texas barbecue scene.

Plenty of local barbecue stars will showcase their smoked delicacies, including Hurtado Barbecue in Arlington, Hutchins BBQ in McKinney and Frisco, Dallas’ The Slow Bone and Zavala’s Barbecue in Grand Prairie. Celina favorite Tender Smokehouse will also be in attendance!

The legendary Pat Green and Josh Abbott Band are co-headlining Troubadour Festival, and they’ll be joined by Stoney LaRue, Cody Canada & The Departed, and Kyle Nix & The .38s.

The event has four ticket levels ranging from $50-$1,200: Troubadour VIP, Troubadour Platinum VIP, Troubadour BBQ + Music, and Troubadour Music. The festival is an all-ages event and children 10 and under can get in free!

Celina Craft & Cork

Saturday, Nov. 13
Downtown Celina
2 p.m.-7 p.m.

Come sample craft beers and wines from your favorite local breweries and vineyards. Live music, shopping, great food and children’s activities round out the day for a fabulous fall afternoon! Celina Craft & Cork is free to attend, but beer & wine sampling tickets, food and vendor items are for purchase. Local craft beer, wine with gourmet cheese pairings, and whiskey are the stars of the show at this tasting event.

Christmas on the Square

Wednesday, Dec. 1
Downtown Celina
5 p.m.-9 p.m.

The holiday spirit flourishes at the Historic Downtown Square! Celina Christmas on the Square’s festivities include the highly-anticipated lighting of Celina’s massive 30 ft. Christmas tree. Live reindeer and beautiful lighted angel wings will also be on display on The Square for festive family photos. In addition, an abundance of entertainment for kids of all ages is offered throughout the event, including train rides, bounce houses and more. Live holiday performances will also be held near the pavilion on The Square. Market and food and beverage vendors are also sprinkled throughout the event with assorted goods for purchase.
