Friday Night Market
One Friday each month, you can shop ‘til you drop at the Friday Night Market from 6–9 pm in downtown Celina. Browse homemade, handmade, and homegrown items at 60+ booths. Pick up seasonal produce, artisanal pastries, fresh eggs, and free-range meat. And enjoy munchies from restaurants and food trucks and live local music. Dates are June 2, July 7, Aug. 4, and Sept. 1.
Movie Night on the Square
Bring the whole family to enjoy kid-friendly movies on the lawn at two upcoming free Movie Nights on the Square. Sit in the bleachers or bring a blanket or chairs to watch the film on a massive blow-up screen. Before the movie, grab food, drinks, and theatre-style popcorn from vendors and food trucks. Take your children to the Kids Zone to interact with costumed characters, jump in bounce houses, play games, and make crafts. See Minions: Rise of Gru on June 16, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish on Aug. 18.
Splash & Blast
Have some good, old-fashioned fun at Celina’s biggest free summer bash on July 1. At Splash & Blast from 5–10 pm in Old Celina Park, dance and sing to live music from musician Jett Platt, country group Neon Prophets, and seven-piece band Extended Play. Splash and play on water slides, foam pits, a rock wall, and the Ninja Nation Obstacle Course in the Kids Zone. Browse 50+ vendors with handmade and homemade items, clothing and accessories, and culinary treats. Indulge in classic fair food staples like corn dogs and turkey legs. And celebrate our country’s birth with spectacular fireworks at the end of the night.
Music on the Square
Rock with Journey tribute band ESCAPE at 7:30 pm on July 21 in downtown Celina. Music on the Square is free, and you can get dinner or snacks from the downtown merchants, who will stay open during the event. Bring chairs and blankets to chill out or dance the night away on the Square.
Celina Public Library
Escape the everyday grind with a good book and fun activities at the Celina Public Library. You can join book clubs, watch free movies, listen to story times, be crafty, beat stress at adult coloring night, and play with LEGOs. Kids will love the special story time guests like the Celina Police. Check the library’s Facebook page or website for times and dates.
Little Wooden Penguin
Grab a cold one, shop, and putt golf balls at the Little Wooden Penguin in Celina. You can choose from 28 rotating beers and wines on tap. Learn how to make signs at a June 13 class. Sing, dance, and get silly every Friday at Karaoke Night. Shop for wooden items like Scrabble trays and tiles, sugar molds, and cheese and breadboards in the all-wood store. Play the 18-hole putting course to work up your appetite for their fun selection of food and drinks.
